Nursery Adventure to the Gruffalo Trail

Nursery headed out into the "deep dark wood" for a day inspired by one of our favourite stories, The Gruffalo.

Here’s a little peek at what our mini-explorers got up to:

Following the Gruffalo Trail: The children kept their eyes peeled for clues, searching high and low for Fox’s underground house, Snake’s log-pile house, and Owl’s treetop branch.

Whipping up "Gruffalo Food": In our mud kitchen, the children got busy mixing up some delicious (pretend!) treats. We had bowls of "Scrambled Snake," plates of "Roasted Fox," and plenty of "Gruffalo Crumble" made from mud, leaves, and berries!

Crafting Pine Cone Owls: Back at our log tables, we put our fine motor skills to work! Using pine cones, wood chips, and autumn leaves, the children crafted their very own adorable woodland owls to take home.

Climbing Trees & Finding Balance: To top it all off, we tested our strength and bravery by climbing low-hanging branches and balancing on fallen logs.

We saw so much brilliant teamwork, sharing, and imaginative play today.
