  • Year 1 Trip to Barleylands

    We had a fantastic time on our trip to Barleylands! The children were brilliant ambassadors for the school and learned so much about where our food comes from.

    The morning was all about becoming master pizza makers. We discovered exactly how wheat becomes flour, before getting hands-on. The children loved kneading their own dough and topping their pizzas. Just look at those masterpieces—they looked (and smelled!) absolutely delicious.

    After a much-needed lunch, we went on a very bumpy but exciting tractor ride around the fields! We finished the day walking around the farm, meeting, greeting, and feeding lots of different animals. The goats and sheep were definitely hungry!

  • Family Workshop - Making Couscous

    We had a fantastic time at the recent Year 2 family workshop, where children and families came together to explore healthy eating and hands-on food preparation. It was wonderful to see the children confidently cutting, grating, peeling, and mixing a variety of fresh ingredients to create their own delicious couscous dishes.

  • Year 4 at Grangewaters

    The pupils showed a lot of resilience during their trip at Grangewaters. They worked hard rowing whilst taking part in the water sports. On the climbing walls, each time the pupils climbed they were asked to go higher than before. Many rose to this challenge. Well done!

  • Year 5/6 Boys’ Football Event

    Under bright blue skies and glorious sunshine, our Year 5/6 football team gave it their all at the SSP football tournament. After a tough start, the team grew in confidence and strength with every game, showing real determination and teamwork.

    There were some fantastic goals, brilliant saves, and moments of real skill as the team battled through a competitive group. Their hard work paid off with a well-earned 2nd place finish in a very tough group — a great achievement!

  • Identity Boxes

    An identity box is a creative box filled with a collection of objects, photos and images that define you or your social identities. Identities might include race, religion, gender, ethnicity, social status, family groups.

    This half term, the children decorated their boxes and put in the things that were important to them. The children presented their boxes to the class and explained what they had in their boxes and why.

  • Food Tasting in Year 1

    The children had a fantastic time on Monday, exploring different ingredients as part of our DT pizza topic. The children were very brave, tasting a range of delicious toppings and talking about the flavours.

  • Class Treaty – Growing Together

    As part of our first day back, each class created a Class Treaty—a shared set of rules and values that we will follow throughout the year. To make it special, each child drew around their hand as a personal 'signature' of commitment.

    These handprints will be displayed on our very own class tree, symbolising that we’re all growing and working together as a team.

  • RBO Alice and Wonderland Performance

    This term HPA have been continuing to work towards their Arts Mark Award with a literacy / dance project.  Continuing to maintain the GLC long standing relationship with The Royal Ballet and Opera HPA undertook and action research project. The study explored the relationship between active learning and empathy in primary school children’s creative writing. Specifically, it examined how empathy is demonstrated in children’s writing and their attitudes towards creative writing after participating in a 5-week Royal Ballet and Opera House Create & Dance active learning pilot. The project has been very successful and the outcomes will be shared at a later date…
