This half term, Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to visit Borough Market and Tate Britain. At Borough Market, they explored one of London’s oldest food markets, discovering fresh produce, sustainability practices, and a variety of cuisines. Their visit to Tate Britain gave them the chance to engage with British art.
The trips offered a rich, educational experience that tied together food, culture, and art, enhancing the students' learning and inspiring their creativity.
On Friday 31st January, we made our debut at the Thurrock Swimming Gala. Congratulations to all swimmers for your remarkable efforts.

For the last few weeks, our friends from Year 5 have been visiting us as part of our story seekers session. This is where we encourage the Nursery children to enjoy stories in many different forms using our story sacks. We hope this will help our Nursery children to develop a love of stories and books. They certainly enjoy exploring the stories together!
In art, Year 3 had a fantastic time experimenting with dip dyeing fabric. The students were eager to try out this creative technique, carefully dipping the fabric in and out of the dye to achieve different shades and effects. We made sure to handle the fabric gently, ensuring it was submerged evenly to get the best results. The process allowed everyone to explore colour mixing and how different fabrics absorb dye, creating some stunning, unique designs. It was a brilliant session, and the students were really proud of their colourful creations!
The Reception classes enjoyed a fun filled day on Wednesday 22 January, they were palaeontologists for the day! They helped the passionate fossil hunters to unearth an array of real dinosaur fossils. They learnt how to walk like dinosaurs, drew dinosaur pictures and were amazed by the dinosaur facts that they were given my Professor Memo! At the end of the workshop the children were pleased to be part of the Royal Dinosaur Club.

On 21 November 2024, the Year 3 children visited Colchester Castle, exploring its rich history as both a Roman temple and a Norman fortress. The children learnt about Colchester’s significance as the capital of Roman Britain and its role in mediaeval England. They also viewed well-preserved artifacts, such as Roman pottery and tools. The visit included interactive workshops where the children dressed in period costumes and learnt about ancient weaponry, providing a hands-on experience of life in Roman and mediaeval times. The children had a fantastic time!
