Instead of the usual “bring a costume from home” approach, the school was transformed into a hub of creativity centred around a specific fairy tale. Throughout the day, children immersed themselves in the story through drama, storytelling and a range of hands-on craft activities.

Rather than arriving in costume, pupils designed and created their own wearable accessories as part of their classroom activities. By the end of the day, every child had crafted something unique to wear that represented the fairy tale theme. This approach allowed children to take full ownership of their creativity and ensured that everyone could take part, regardless of resources at home.

All materials for the children’s “fairy tale transformations” were provided during the school day, and it was fantastic to see the wide range of imaginative creations produced across the school.
